SOME UPDATES & THOTS
Time to update my blog...here's goes......

We had chili crabs for supper 2 weeks ago during CNY. They were delicious and cheap...3 for $25 plus 5 buns! Think we'll be getting our crab fix from this Zi Char stall at Khatib from now on...hee!

My Gu Ma invited us for a Popiah party at her place. Her "made from scratch" popiah were fantastic with more than 10 yummy (expensive) ingredients in them. We had a fun time wrapping these huge popiahs!

Pics of us at her place

We bought a 2nd hand Toyota Corolla recently. Jo had outgrew the van and there isn't much space for his growing legs so we decided to get a car (which means we are not having another kid!). Last Tuesday after my work, we made our maiden trip to JB in this car cos I had craving for the heavenly Chicken Claypot Rice! We did some shopping too.

This super shiok Chicken Claypot Rice with a generous amount of mushrooms and a big piece of salted fish is found at City Sq Food Court, JB. We were so satisfied...cheap and good...keke!

I love this limited edition Rose lipstick from Bodyshop, City Square (JB). The cover is so pretty and the lipstick taste great..haha!

Christine invited us to her place for CNY dinner and Yu Sheng last Friday. It was good time catching up with my ex-cell members.

On Saturday afternoon, we drove into JB again. This time Gil was with us. We had Yu Sheng and Dinner at Kinsahi. And of course more shopping again! Btw, we're going JB this Friday for the claypot rice...woohoo!

Videos of us "laoing" Yu Sheng and talking....haha!

Now for some home-cooked food:

1) Sesame chicken with mushrooms and Long Bean eggs. Somehow these food reminded me of my confinement days. I would have these almost everyday at that time but I still never gotten tired of them!

2) Since I have a pack of Chinese sausages(given by my dad), I decided to cook the Cantonese style "Lup Mei Fan" yesterday. I added some chicken thigh meat and mushrooms (Yes, I luv mushrooms!)too. Tom loved the LMF so much that he requested that I prepared more rice (3 cups!) for his bento the next day. The winter melon soup was tasty too. Tom, my non-soup drinker HB drank almost 3/4 of the soup! Think these dishes will be added to our regular dinner menu now!

3) I woke up at 5.45 am this morning to packed Tom's bento. Content: LMF in thermal pot and 2 bottles of home-brewed chrysanthemum tea. Think he will have a very filling lunch today.

Had been inspired by 2 sermons recently. One by Ps. Kong on CNY and another last Sunday by Ps. Edmund Chan. He made me want to read the book of NUMBERS.... yes, I never knew that book in the Bible can be so interesting even tho' I read it 3 times already. Going to start reading it again!

Did I tell you I had some crazy dreams these days.... I dreamt that "Xiao Zhu" (if you know who he is) was my BF several times these week...must be too much "Bai Fen Bai" these few nights...haha plus he's so super charming! And last night, I dreamt of DINOSAURS.... thanks to Jo's recent Dino craze.... Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus...... just to name a few! Wonder what will I be dreaming tonight????

Ale and Asher will be coming at 4 pm today...yeah..... so happy! We'll be picking Gil up from NIE and having dinner at NTU in the evening. Yuppee, more cheap and yummy food...... haha..... just in case you think I have a cheapo taste bud, you're so wrong! But with this financial crisis going on, it's really time to save up! I have even traded my Kikkoman premium soy sauce for Lee Kum Kee's superior soy sauce..... Tom was impressed...hahaha! I am such an Obasan.... bye!
