CHRISTMAS ISN'T CHRISTMAS............
My dear boy was down with stomach flu and I was infected with the same bug........ kept coughing till today................sian............. BUT I was determined to recover 90% before Christmas cos I had 2 parties to attend! Thankfully, my runny nose stopped by the eve although I was still coughing.

I have so much to update and uploading these 100 plus pics takes up a lot of my time............. anyway IT'S PARTY TIME!!!!!!!!!!

CHRISTMAS PARTY AT GARY'S HOUSE

TOMMY CUTTING TURKEY

Carolling 1

Carolling 2

We had a Cell Christmas Party on the eve at Gary's place. There were about 50 guests although it didn't felt like it cos his house was super big............ 4 storeys high! We invited our nieces and nephew. The food was also pretty decent with the usual Turkey & Ham and some local fare!

The Fun Quotient was on the low side. The songs on the CD were boring and unfamiliar. Most of the guests were 35 and above so the conversations revolved around stocks and shares. I was in charge of the ice breaker........... kind of knew that the guests would arrive late so only prepared 2 games ........... in the end, we played only one of them cos everyone were chatting away. As dinner was late (about 8pm), most of us were hungry so we were more interested in eating! But having the party in such a big and beautiful house compensated for the lack of fun. Some of us went around the house to take pics (esp at the attic with the open air toilet!). The carollers came at about 9 plus and liven up the whole place (tho' I thot I heard an "off key" voice....keke!).

We left the place about 10 plus and sent our N&N home. Poor Gil, her log cake was "forgotten" so we decided to turn back to Gary's place and collect it. Some of our young friends came over and stayed till the next day. And yes, we finished the cake in one sitting! Andrew joined us too....miss this guy....so glad to see him........ tho' he was as crappy as before...haha! We went out for Christmas lunch at Bei Sheng before heading home for a nap.

CHRISTMAS AT MY AUNT'S PLACE

We celebrated Christmas at my aunt's place. Although some of us couldn't be there, I still enjoyed myself thoroughly! We had to dressed in silver or gold clothing. I wore a shirt with silver sequins, Tom wore a shirt with silver words and my dear prince was in his CNY shirt....haha.......the only gold stuff he has!

The food was fabulous........... maybe becos it was home-cooked! There were butter prawns, curry chicken, fried bee hoon, glutinous rice..................etc. I loved the small but cozy gathering especially the crazy conversations that went around the dinning table.

Two weeks before Christmas, we played "Angel & Mortal" game at my mom's bd dinner. We were supposed to get a $20 gift for the person that we picked from the list of names. My SIL was my mortal and I bought her 2 shirts from JB. My dad was my Angel but he wasn't there cos he had to attend to some matters in Ipoh. Anyway, we were supposed to keep it a secret till Christmas day.

During gift exchange, we had to put on fanciful hats and take pics with our mortals and angels............ the fun quotient at this party was high! The music was great too. We stayed till about 10 pm and went back for another round of partying at my place with Gil, Mich & Ken.

That evening's party left a warm feeling in my heart................ truly Christmas isn't Christmas till it happens in your heart................... I think it's the love, joy & peace that makes this Christmas unforgettable.

BTW, tomorrow......rather today is Barn's birthday...........will update his blog with the last post later.

Found this version of the song "Christmas isn't Christmas" on Youtube.....think they sang it quite beautifully tho' the sound is not as clear.

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST 2

The above pics were taken on Saturday at my in laws' place. I have such sweet nieces and nephew. As you can see, I think they enjoyed our company too.

Emmie was back from NZ yesterday. We went to the airport to fetch her (in 3 vehicles....she was spolit for choice!) and brought her for dinner at East Coast Food Village. She looked more mature and definitely prettier! Heng was also there. We had a great time catching up with these 2 dear friends. Will meet up soon again and maybe even a stay over at my place like the good old days!

A few of us felt that this Christmas seem a little quiet........... we're thinking of going for the musical by CHC. Anyway, I have 2 parties next week......... On the eve, my cell is organising a party at Gary's place..........and as usual, I am doing the ice-breaker! On Christmas evening, we are invited to my aunt's place for a family party......yeah......... we're playing Angel & Mortal.......... looking forward to it....but where to find somthing gold or silver to wear????

So what are my Christmas wishes this year............... take a look:

4) The lastest book by Max Lucado

5) A trip to Bangkok......... I want to shop, shop , shop!

6) Going shopping without having to worry about anything....like Jo or time.....

7) I wish that my friends would be happy.....esp those who had to go thru' difficult and painful times this year.

8) My family members will receive Christ

9) A car......so that we can drive in to JB anytime we want

10) I will do well in my new venture

11) A make-over for the room that I am using for my biz

12) A CD Player for Joash....poor boy.......his player spoilt and we had to switch on the DVD for him......he kept looking at the TV!

13) Good Health for my family

14) A date with Wu Zun........he is so super shuai........ but dear I still think you're the best!

15) A bigger house or maybe even a condo so that our visitors can rest comfortably and have activities to keep them occupied.

17) 881 DVD

18) Tom will do well in his biz

19) My unmarried friends will find their partners soon.......keke!

20) Lastly, umlimited supply of $$$$$$$............. then I can start fulfilling other people wishes!

Yup, 20 wishes altogether.......... I am really greedy! You not meh!

This year, we have to wrap......or rather I have to wrap about 70 presents.......... my fingers are aching from all the cutting and sticking ....ouch! But it's all worth it cos it's Christmas......... luv to see the smiles on people's faces when they received a gift................ It's really better to give than to receive....... but I also like receiving pressies...............can't wait!

Missed Gil cos she went on a holiday wih her bro and mum to Taiwan. Waiting for her to be back this Friday. We're going to "prettified" our nails in JB this Sat........ going to get "snowflakes" on my toes!

Romantic Princess has ended last week......... I am having some withdrawal syndrome which explains why I am blogging in the afternoon.........used to watch it on Youtube every Mon's noon. Here's a short clip of the show and the song by Angela Zhang....... luv it....... luv Wu Zun!

ALL ABOUT FOOD

Last Sunday, we celebrated my mum's BD at Moi Kong Hakka Restaurant. It's her fave. I had been there for about 10 times. Heard that this eatery was also featured in a variety show...... must be good la!

Well.......... sad to say, last week's food wasn't as fantastic compared to my previous visits. Anyway, I am going to blog about the food.

1) Appetiser platter - Hakka deep fried tofu, Oyster and Broccoli, Deep fried fatty pork and Deep Fried Pork Ngoh Hian (Hakka seemed to consist mostly deep fried stuff and pork!) were on this platter. I think it's pretty good cos you can't go very wrong with deep fried food....right? And the dried oysters were big and well marinated. The fatty pork is one of their signature dish................yes............. we always order the fatty pork every time we're there. 7/10

2) Chicken in Rice Wine Soup - This is a Hakka specialty. It's a"must-try" item. The soup was infused in rice wine. Some of us were worried that we might get drunk on the soup. This dish is my 2nd fave cos I love alcohol....hahahaha...... They also have another version lesser soup but I still felt that this is the best! 8/10

3) Hakka Fried Noodles - As usual, my son liked the noodles....in fact he likes most noodles and the likes...... The noodles resembled mini "Mee Poh". This carbo rich dish is considered decent to me....keke...... 7/10

4)Steamed Fish - Nothing special at all............... something I would not order again. I still prefer their Deep Fried Pomfret.....yum! But the fish was flesh and the gravy was also tasty. 6/10

5) Chinese Spinach with sea cucumber and mushroom - The worst dish of all. Hated the bitter spinach....... all of us felt it tasted like mud....not that we have eaten mud before......hee.......... just this strange stony muddy taste.....yucks! But the mushrooms and sea cucumber were ok. 3/10

6) Vege dish - I had forgotten it's name but it looked like "pung cai". The bean sauce and garlic plus a tinge of spiciness made this my fave dish in the restaurant...............super shiok...... I think I finished most of it! 9/10

7) Hakka Deep Fried Pork Balls - See, I told you....Hakkas like pork! I liked meat balls but this wasn't desirable at all......... had a weird porky taste........ but if you dipped it into the garlic chili and sweet sauce, it's still considered edible! 5/10

8) Abacus Yam - This was my 3rd fave dish. Love the spongy abacus yam. Delectable............. the mushrooms and loads of garlic made this another "must-try" dish. Hmmmm......... 8/10

9) Peanut coated Mochi with Seasame filling - A very satisfying dessert....... I liked mochi and this was surprising very good for a Hakka Restaurant........ I always thot that the Japs had the best version! 8/10

Overall, the service were ok even tho' it was full house. I especially liked the lady who refused to sell me the mochi when I wanted to "ta pao" for Gil, Mich & Ken who were waiting for us at our place. She told me that the mochi would not taste good by the time I reached home. I liked her honesty. This shows that they take pride in their cooking! For that, I will be back for more!

After dinner, I took out my cam and started snapping away with my beloved family...........love them! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA!

We met up with Daryl & Rachel for dinner last Thursday at Ju Ju Hokkaido Hot Pot Restaurant (Paradiz Ctr). I really like their service.......very prompt and good. The waiters and waiteresses were always on the look out for customers who needed help. The manager was also a friendly & helpful chap.

But most importantly, the food was good. We had a choice of Chicken, Beef, Fish, Vege, Seafood platters for our individual pots. Tommy, Ra & Daryl had the beef platter. Gil had the chicken. As for me, it definitely seafood! We could also choose the soup base. All of us ordered the clear soup except Tom who wanted to try the creamy soup (milk). No one was brave enough to take the "Ma la" soup.

The thing that got us all so excited was when the food was served. They were placed on pretty plates and the portions were huge! My prawns, mussels, crabs, fish and loads of vege and mushrooms were served on a "ship"! They really knows how to tempt us visually. I remembered I was salivating when I saw the plates of food landing in front of me. After I had gotten over the initial surprise, I am back to my "skeptical" self. Food need to taste good not just look good. I love the egg (an appetiser) most. This cute little egg had the power to make you want to eat a dozen of it!

The dipping sauce, namely, soy sauce, chili & peanut were also poured into interesting tiny glasses. Gil the peanut lover almost gulped down the whole glass of peanut sauce. As for me, I was "drunk" with the sweet tasting soy sauce!

And oh, I did something really silly........ ate a frozen chives wanton thinking that it was an appetiser....haha...... how I know....... frozen stuff also want to serve on nice plate.............. not my fault ok!

As for my seafood, they were rather disappointing as they weren't very fresh. The crab meat break into pieces after it was cooked. And I thot I detected a tinge of "fishiness" in the fish. But the vege and mushrooms compensated for the lack of freshness in my main course. We were also given a glass of plum juice for digestion halfway thru' our meal.......... so considerate hor?

As for desserts, we al felt that on our next visit, we will just stick to ice-cream....haha.....you know what I mean??

On the whole, I enjoyed myself very much. I think it was worth paying $34 for this visually appealing feast. I am missing the egg now................. drool.................. drool some more!

Alright, as I mentioned, this post is all about food. So I am going to dreamland soon.................. and yes..... my Christmas wishes will be up next............. "Yawn"......... bye............. I think I will be dreaming about food!

LOADS OF UPDATES & PICS
CHILDREN'S CAMP 2007

Phew.....it's been a long while since I blogged............... thanks to my "new baby" below

Yup, Tom bought this darling to show his support for my new biz....... sweet ya? We shopped for a long time at the Sitex fair and finally with the help of Ken, decided to get this cute little Acer note book. He also helped me to get everything started......thks Ken....... But I needed to get used to this new toy esp when it's Windows Vista and not Xp........ the buttons and functions looked so foreign to me! I missed blogging so much............ couldn't sleep last night cos I had a cup of Ice Milk Tea so I decided to use my time wisely......haha.......... switched on this babe and started to fiddle with it.............. so I am finally back with lots of updates and pics!

Last week was Children's Camp and my cell had to prepare the drinks for "Purim Feast". Ken was invited to do some ballooning performance and he was fabulous! Wait for the next post for the videos of Kenneth performance. This guy is so multi-talented........ can play instrument, do magic and ballooning, good IT knowledge........ blah blah blah............ I can see ken floating up as he read this part of the post....hee......... Ken I mean it! Go see Jo's blog for his latest pics and vids.

DINNER AT TI AMO CAFE

Had dinner on Thursday with Kei, Gil, Les, Von & Hui Yun at this cafe Ti Amo which Tricia used to work in . The food was reasonably priced and good. Not going to rate them cos they were normal. But the Tiramisu is yummilious............. can really taste the wine....and we heard that it was Tricia's creation....this girl so "li hai"! What I like about this place is that it is not too crowded and it has a bar on the 2nd level (only for 18 and above, must have accompanying parents if below the age limit). Overall a relax place to hang out....and oh, they provide high chair!

DINNER AT HONG KONG CAFE ( MARINA SQ)

We were at Concourse yesterday to get some wrapping papers. Then we headed down to Marina Sq for dinner. The place was crowded as the mall was having a late night shopping promotion. Our dinner was late....about 9 plus! But maybe becos we're super hungry, the food at this Hong Kong cafe seemed really good........haha.....I told Gil that we should come back again so that we could give an honest comment about the food. Not giving any ratings cos just feeling too sleepy.....zzzzzzzzzzzz.............. Btw, most of the pics here were taken with my mobile which explains the blurriness of some of the pics.

Some thots before I cuddle up:

1) Very liberated today............ cos I have said what I wanted to say.................. at last................. feel like dancing with a pom pom..........I know I am crazy......... sometimes, you just got to let it all out!

2) Wondering if there are trustworthy people out there.............................. I can only think of about a handful of them........sad.................

3) Faith is confidence in God........... Ps. Kong had done it again........ made me reflected on my relationship with God.......... got to get connected to the Source!

4) Where do I go from here................... I need an answer............

5) I am trying to get into the Christmas mood now esp after so many things had happened.......... A thankful heart is a happy heart......and oh, I have also updated Barn's blog.......... and his BD is nearing too................

ok I got to go............ eyes closing soon.....................bye!
