DINNER WITH ALE AT HOGS BREATH CAFE

We went to pick Ale and Asher up for dinner at Vivo City. As usual, Ale had to keet getting to sit down (how to? got such a big space at the back of the van to walk about!)....... haha.....but anyway, she managed to get him to sit down. It's takes only about 10 minutes for us to reach Vivo from her place.

Something funny to share here......... I am really Humpty Sharon.......... Yes I had a great fall.............. so embarrassing. I was trying to catch hold of Asher cos I saw that he was about to run out into the open path of the car park. And at that point, I slipped and fell........ together with Asher....... ai ya............. poor Asher had to fall with me....thanks goodness, he managed to break his fall. But poor me landed on my butt.......>blush<....kekekeke! I got up and started laughing hard at myself........... so clumsy............... so funny............... the thot of it makes me chuckle now!

We had dinner at Hogs Breath Cafe. Kendrick came and joined us later cos he had to work late. The food was disappointing despite the good comments on TV & magazines. Guess the only person who likes his food is Kendrick but then again we did not try his steak so maybe he just like bland stuff.......haha! Not going to name the food one by one........ just one rating........2/10.....2 points given not for food but for the nice decor (but the music is too loud for us) and friendly staff......and the nice plates, serviettes and coasters......... and of course the bike that my son likes...........hee hee! Btw Ale rate it as 1/10........... cos of all the dishes , she only likes one....the mushroom soup (I don't like it cos it too "sandy" and have a strange after taste)

After dinner we shop at Daiso......... it's freezing inside so we did not shop for long. I bought 2 packs of caramel corn crackers....Green Tea and Strawberry flavour....yummy! This is the first time I saw the Green tea ones....... Ale says that they also have the Vanilla Ice cream flavour at NTUC....... Must go check it out! Our sons saw some fishes and were rather excited....especially Asher.....he kept running along the tanks and saying "ish" ....so cute! He even go around hugging us as he said it......... soooooooo endearing! As usual, my son said his favourite word "here" as he pointed at the fish and the plant on top of the tank............. real sweet, think he wanted to touch the plant.....haha! The Lees left at about 9.40pm. We went to BK to heat up Joash's milk before leaving.

And yes................. this will be our first and last time dining at Hogs Breath Cafe. Btw......... we paid $133 plus for the food.............. Ale said we should have gone to Long John Silver instead....... cos the fish there taste better and cheaper....... I totally agreed!!!!!!!!

ASHER'S 3RD BIRTHDAY

We attended Asher's 3rd Birthday Party on Saturday. As usual we were late tho' we're not the latest.......phew! The hall was filled with many colourful balloons. And of course...... Asher's favourite balloon was the one with Thomas on it! Now....a little details of the party:

1. Decor - They spent about $200 on the decor and balloons. But it was worth it cos Asher adores balloons and some of the decor can be reused.

2. Food - The food was good. Ale catered from http://www.uncleaw.iwish.sg/index.html (Uncle Aw's Kitchen). I had the privileged to choose the food with Ale........... that's why I say it was good.....haha! And I will be ordering from them for parties. Here's the rating for each item -

Bee Hoon - Right texture with lots of Char Siew and vegetables....... nice 7/10

Curry Vegetables - Lots of Brinjals (Ale & my faves) so if you don't like them....you will not like it. It's not too spicy and goes well with the bee hoon 8/10

Asparagus with Scallops - Real scallops with lots of asparagus and thick gravy...... no complains..... 8/10

Stir Fried Fish Slices - My favourite dish for all........ no funny fishy taste and the fish were cut into thick slices. The gravy is so yummy....... 9/10

Tofu with Mushroom - An ok dish cos the tofu is a little hard 6/10

Gong Pao Frog Legs - Delicious but a bit too bony for me. It's Tommy's favourite. He took heaps of it! 7/10

Fatty Pork with Fermented Bean Sauce - Hates fatty pork so not going to rate it.

Fish Maw Soup - Contain generous portion if ingredients and lot of my favourite black wood fungus. Ale finds it a bit too salty but I am fine with it. 7/10

3. Guests - Ale's family and in laws, Chee Leong, Mei Yin & Rayern, Roblyn and family, Dr Toh (she is Asher's Godmummy and my son's PD) and 2 sons, us plus some other friends of Ale. We had fun chatting with Aunty Margaret. She taught us how to cook herbal porridge for Joash to improve his appetite. Chatted with Mei Yin too. She looks nicer with make up (thks to Ale! Too bad, no photos of her.) I was glad to see Dr Toh cos I can ask her about Joash's feeding difficulty. She told me he seems to be teething and it will pass so I am just going to relax and not get stressed over it.

4. Birthday Cake - From 7th Manna, $100 for 2kg. it was a white chocolate cake with cherries and evryone loves it except Ale, Kendrick, Tommy & I.....haha...... and we were the ones (Ale & I) who chose it. It had a very milky taste and was really soft. I had a hard time cutting it! Honestly, I still like my cheap cake from Prima Deli......hee!

The party ended at about 9 pm. We were the 2nd last to leave.

Today is Asher's actual birthday.

ASHER BOY, HAPPY & BLESSED BIRTHDAY! LUV YOU LOTS LOTS..........

FRIENDS FROM PERTH

The Quahs were back last week for a short holiday. We met up with them for shopping and food. The gals had grown and changed so much since we last saw them. They are getting taller and prettier!

Day 1 - We had dinner at Ikea. I was surprised to see annie looking exactly the same 5 years ago! Must be the healthy Japanese food that they had been eating at their restaurant! As usual the food was good....... meatballs, curry chicken, chicken wings.......... etc! We shop around and chatted after dinner. We decided to meet again the next day for shopping.

Day 2 - Shopping at Marina Square. The gals wanted to buy some clothes so I became their tour guide . Steven and Annie gave us a treat at Dian Xiao Er for dinner. The foodwas alright. The nicest dish is the duck and the worst dish goes to the parsley filled tofu (so yucks! Hate the Parsley and Tom being the most unobservant HB in the world gave me another piece......grrrrrrr). We had ice cream at Andersen again......yup.....Rum & Raisins again.......so yummy! We hugged and say goodbye before leaving. Gonna miss them so much...... see you in Perth soon!

SOMETHING TO SHARE AND PRAYER SUPPORT

As you can see from the above pictures, I really enjoy my class. It makes me feel like I finally have some of my life back! I like meeting people and making new friends. My Trainer Melissa is soooooooo inspiring and passionate about what she does. I have not heard and seen someone like her for a long time since I graduated from my early childhood course (except for Ps. Kong Hee who encouraged me each time I hear him preached online!) . Plus she is pretty and look so young for her age (41 years old! Don't look like right?) so she is a pleasant sight to look at during lessons (sorry, sometimes looks do make a difference!). Oh yes, she can speak 5 languages! Just 3 lesssons and I am totally ashamed of my English......can't imagine the number of mistakes I made when I speak each time....... >blush<

RE: JOASH

I am still waiting for Joash to walk independently. Almost everyone I know is asking me about it. Just yesterday, he suddenly stood up on his own with 2 balls in his hands and threw one of it to me. Tommy and I were so excited that we clap so happily for him. But it only lasted for a few seconds so we did not manage to take any pictures. I think it will be a matter of weeks before he will start walking without holding our fingers (yes, he needs to hold one of our fingers when he walks (or rather run....haha!)....... so funny!

I have been working hard in teaching him to read through the Glenn Doman method. So far so good....tho' I don't know if he really knows what I am doing...hee! Guess I just have to trust that he understands. Tommy had been supportive by helping me get the materials that I needed to prepare the teaching aids. He also tried one lesson with Joash and found it fascinating cos each lesson lasted only 5 seconds.......... now you know why I say I wonder whether Joash understands what was being taught............. keke!

RE: PRAYERS NEEDED FOR A 18 MONTHS OLD GIRL NAME SABY (SAMANTHA)

She is critically ill and the doctors are giving her another 48 hrs before they remove all life support. See http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/messages/5/760868.html

for the whole story. Many people in this forum are praying for her and it really touched me just knowing that people really cares irregardless of whether they are Christians.....in fact, some even go to church to pray even tho' they are not christians. I felt so sad for her parents as well as heart pain for this little girl. This whole episode kinda reminded me of Barnabas. Anyway, please keep this girl in prayer if you happen to read my blog. They really need all the support and prayers now. Thanks.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO LATELY...........?

I have started a course for Diploma in Education Studies with GIG Education Centre. Basically I am studying Phonics, Speech & Drama & Creative Writing. Above pic is my homework for the first lecture. The lessons are rather hands on and my trainer Melissa, is very inspiring. I have also made some new friends and pick up some good ideas for teaching, Yup, all the trainings are igniting my passion for teaching again. Actually I am thinking about going back to work earlier than I had planned to........ well........ will have to think thru' it carefully....hmmmm..............maybe freelance........maybe part time.......... maybe half day work....... oops! Sorry..........I was just thinking aloud!

Sometimes I think teaching runs in my family.............. my aunty used to be a teacher, my brother is a Secondary School teacher.....my sis used to teach too.......I taught in Primary School as relief teacher then go on to preschool teaching............plus most of my friends are teachers and lecturers! Come to think of it.....I was actually deciding between training to be a counsellor or a teacher. And finally I decided on teaching young children cos I like preventive work (if you know what I mean!) and I can also use those skills that I have learnt on my son. I have also started Joash on a Reading Program by Glenn Doman (see 2nd pic). He is one of the pioneers on right brain teaching. It was fun and therapeutic making flashcards and reading all about this method of teaching. The kits are not cheap but Tommy was very supportive of me teaching Joash........ sweet right? I must say.......... I enjoy it tremendously............ Being joyous as you teach is so true (the main principle in this GD method!)........ Joash seems to like it too! I am looking forward to teaching him Maths and EK after the Reading program has progressed smoothly!

AND WE'VE JUST GOT A "NEW BABY" TODAY........INTRODUCING............

GRAND SUN SPA SYSTEM

THE MAIN SYSTEM

THE BUBBLING THING

THE BIG ORANGE TUB THAT I HAVE CHOOSEN TO MATCH MY TOILET

Tommy had signed up to be a distributor for this spa system. We tried it out today and was shocked by what we saw after the spa.............. "Kou que (dirt from the body)"........yucks.........around the tub and the water was grey in colour........... we felt a kilo lighter and fairer after all the bubbling! Btw, this spa aids in slimming, bust enhancment (haha........ no more papaya breasts!) and skin care..........hope this spa thing will make me sexy all over again.........keke!

It seems like my life is getting interesting.............. Oh........Joash is down with fever and runny nose today......... pray that he will be well tomorrow..............really hate to see him sick!

SOME BACKDATED PICS PLUS PICS & SPECIAL MTV FROM GOOD FRIDAY TO EASTER

MTV #1

MTV #2

It was a long weekend and as usual we had lotsa fun! Starting from Friday all the way to Easter...........:

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING - We went to IMM with Gillian in the morning and had lunch at Ajisen. Tommy & I both agreed that the Paiku Ramen is the nicest after trying other Ramens in the restaurant. We were so attracted to the desserts and was actually looking forward to eat them but the Ramen filled us up so much that we had no space for dessert. After lunch, we went shopping........ hee....... I bought 2 blouses and Gil bought one from COAX........ the clothes were so cheap.............. We met Yvonne, her sis & mom while we were trying out the blouses. Then we made our way to Daiso (the main purpose for going to IMM) and bought some toys and snacks. Joash fell asleep in my arms........ we really tired him out! It was a fun and fruitful trip.

GOOD FRIDAY EVENING - We had dinner with Kendrick, Ale & OSS (btw, oss is Asher, his mom called him that!) at Dome, Suntec. The food was good (sorry, no pics of food....cos forgotten to take them). Ale & I had Spinach Fettucini with mushroom, Tom had steak and Ken had Crayfish Pasta. All of us were satisfied except Tommy who was still hungry! After that we adjourned to Andersen for ice cream. My Hb was craving for Rum & Rasins ice cream. It was fantastic but the place was a little too dusty for us. Yup, another lovely evening with my BF............ looking at her just makes me feel like going on a diet again....haha!

SATURDAY - We went to Changi Airport to welcome Simon back from Perth. His flight was delayed and we had to wait till 9.25pm before his plane landed and we only managed to see him at 10.10 pm. We had dnner at BK with the group. Simon looked a little slimmer and darker........... thot he would bring back a blondie....haha! Joash had fun climbing up and down the stairs countless times.......... poor Mich....had to walk up & down with him! It was also his first time on a Sky Train. We left the Airport at about 10.15 pm.

EASTER SUNDAY - Brought Joash to Yishun 10 (as usual we were there only after the service had ended!). Nothing much except that went to ruby's place to watch the worship vocal training. Joash enjoyed the place and the people too! After the training, we wanted to have lunch out but Joash fell asleep in my arms and we hasd to "ta pao" back. Mich, Gil & Samantha came to our place for lunch. We had my fave Steamed rice from 921........ they liked the food too! Ra, Nicky, Jerome, Kuen & Kei came over after visiting Tim in "prison"....keke! Ra, Mich & Sam had a crazy time learning the dance steps.......as you can see from the videos......yes, we had fun! We had Spaggetti with mussels for dinner (sponsor by Mich's mom)....... goody! Then we went over to CWP for shopping. Wow....... what a busy and crazy Easter!

ONE LAST THING - CONGRATS TO KEVIN & RIE ON THE BIRTH OF KANON CHAN TODAY!
